  • Vray frame buffer off screen (3dsmax)

    Hi,

when I remote connect to my workstation at the office, sometimes the Vray frame buffer is off screen and I cannot get it back with the old Alt+spacebar trick.
For Maya there seems to be a solution with some code. How can I get it on screen in Max?

    Thanks,
    G.

There are maxscripts on scriptspot that edit the ini file for you to get windows back. Here is one http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/sc...ack-my-dialogs

Another trick that works for the vray frame buffer, go to max on the windows task bar, the icons of the open windows show up.
Right click on the frame buffer one, click move, and use arrows to move it back onto your screen. once it is moving you can click anywhere on screen and it will move to there.

I didn't want all the windows to revert to 0,0 so that wouldn`t have been an option.

But the second trick worked, however, only when you set the icons in the task bar to always group (task bar/properties) which is the default windows behaviour.
I like it more not to group them for to save some clicks. But at least now I've got a trick to get the frame buffer back.

      Thanks a lot!
