Environment slot vs VRayLight Dome

Hi,

I get a scene from my friend who still use environment slot instead of dome light. Its a scene from some older vray, dont know exactly the version. But the problem is when I dont use environment slot and add a dome light and put hdri in there, reflection on a ground is gone. When render only hdri, its the same in both versions, so why reflection is gone with dome light and is ok when use environment slot?

why with hdri in environment slot reflections is good and with vray dome light reflection is black when hdri is there???

is reflection overide set to black maybe ?
reflection tick box on dome light switched off ?
is dome light set to exclude the object or set to include no objects ?
just some ideas..

no exclude objects, no override, no reflection untick

Just hit render, scene is almost black. Go to environment and effects tab and tick use environment map and hit render, hdri is in reflection now (make sure hdri is loaded in material editor). Where is a problem??

It's because of the "dim distance" which is enabled in the material. In this case the rays are cut short before they reach the dome light. It can be fixed relatively easily if you need that option - just let me know how urgent this is.

Oh, dim distance. I dont know dome light is affected by dim distance. I cant wait anymore so I used old setup with scene in environment slot. Its ok, but it would be great when new setup behave like the old one, but faster and better
