  • LC computing twice on dual processor machine

    Hello,
as straightforward as the topic says, the LC is computing twice on my dual CPU workstation.
Is this the way its meant to be or is it a similar issue as with VrayRT when using multiple GPUs???
    Thanks for info!
Just need to knwo what to count with ))

    Hi Martin,

This is something new to me. Just did a quick test on 2 x Xeon machine and Max 2017/ V-Ray 3.50.03 and only one LC calculation was done for the render job.
Can you give me more information or a scene to work with ? By the way does it happen with any scene file or just with particular project?
You are rendering with V-Ray ADV in production mode right?

yes i am using the latest vray and VrayADV renderer.
The way LC behaves is that it seems like its finishing (or finishes) then it jumps back almost to the begining and computes again (although more quickly sometimes)...after that i get the merging LC passes and its starts rendergin.
I am using render selected option (unsure if it matters)???

I only noticed this with this particular project so far as its the only one i am hardly working on now

Can you set the Log verbosity level to 4 and check the V-Ray log while rendering or when it is finished? There should be information about each processing step including LC calculations.
We can also test your scene file here if you manage to pack and send it to support@chaosgroup.com
