  • Command Line Denoiser not working in V-Ray 3.5

Saving to V-Ray raw image files from the VFB tab in settings seems to be broken. It saves a different file from the one on the VFB and cannot be denoised via the command line tool, it crashes when using the -elements=1 flag.

Reverting back to 3.5 Beta 1 or 3.4 everything works correctly. I don't know if I can revert back to Beta 1 since I think it had an expiration date, but it still works correctly in V-Ray 3.4.

I have posted the issues in the Beta 2 thread and submitted a support ticket but I have not received any answers expect that Chaosgroup support cannot reproduce the issue.

I did manage to find a work around since it seems to be related to the Vray SP 3.5 itself and not the vdenoiser.exe, if you add all the render elements manually and not use the Vray denoiser element it will work as expected. I managed to find the old script provided back in the denoiser alpha days that does this for you.

I hope this helps anyone stuck in the same situation.

    Hi eyepiz,

This is already fixed and will make it to the next official builds and will be in the stable nightlies from tomorrow on. The problem was with writing the images so they will still crash.

    Best regards,

I mean the already written images, the new ones should be alright.
