  • 3.5 IPR: Scenes with Displacement refresh after scene change

    Hey,
I have a scene here with some displacement on a parking deck. As soon as I move a light around or something, the IPR refreshes and compiles geometry, instances etc. Because of the displacement, this takes very long. Does the IPR really need to evaluate the displacement on every change to the scene?

    Regards

Any hints regarding the issue? Do you need a scene?

A scene will be very helpful if you can send it to vlado@chaosgroup.com

Thanks for the scene; for the 3.50.04 patch, we have tried to make displacement generation faster, but we also have a general fix lined up for this. It will take a while to implement it as we need to transfer some geometry update code from V-Ray RT to the production V-Ray. Will let you know when it is in the nightly builds.

            Best regards,
            Vlado
