  • denoise breaks raw GI & raw light passes

Found a bug with the denoiser. we were rendering our animation to .vrimg with all denoise channels attached, but when the denoiser is present the rawgi & raw light elements have issues.

No denoise (ignore outside the red box):

and with denoise in the file:

Objects which are in the foreground of something further away or are glass/reflective end up with no AA (not sure the distance needed to break but in this scene it is about 3/4 of a living room)
All other elements are fine, it's just these 2. unfortunately we use both pretty heavily in our post production setup.

      Hello!

Thank you for reporting this issue. I've managed to reproduce it using the Bucket image sampler and the issue is now logged in our bug-tracking system.
I also found in my tests that the raw elements are rendered properly with the Progressive image sampler (and denoiser present). Could you check if this work-around is good for you?

      Best regards,
      Margarita

Never actually used the progressive sampler for a production animation but we'll give it a go!

That Friday was the first day of sending sequences for our big animation, but 80% of the shots render noise free in around 30minutes anyway so we only really need the denoiser for a handful of depth of field shots which wont be ready to send for a couple more weeks. can definitely switch to progressive for those. thank you!
