Vray toon and z-depth render element

When using vray toon the z-depth render elements is also affected. This is not good(at least for me). Is there a way to ignore toon render on the z-depth render element?

This is actually in our list of future V-Ray Toon improvements. In the meantime you can try the workaround provided here:

I'm still getting this issue in Vray Next, in Maya 2018. Is there a fix or workaround that'd work in Maya?
