  • Vrayclipper: animated objects without shadows

    Hi
I have a strange and urgent problem: an object is clipped with a vrayclipper and it works fine. Inside are objects which are not clipped, they are animated. As soon as they start moving, their shadows dissapear, it comes back when they don't move anymore.
See the small clip here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...dowproblem.mp4

Can't figure out why, I hope someone can.

    regards,
    Thomas

    Hello,

Are the moving objects proxies or other type of dynamic geometries? There is a known bug causing wrong shadows when there is a clipper, dynamic and static geometry.

    Best regards,

      No, it's "standard" geometry.

Then can you share a part of the scene (here or to our support) ?

Yes, here is a part of it. At frame 170 no shadows from the pistons, at frame 200 with shadows.

          Thanks,

Thanks for the scene. I'll check what is going on and will write back. By the way - what Max and what V-Ray versions are you using?

For now I found out that if you turn off the camera motion blur the shadows start behaving.
I'll keep looking why this is a problem.

Excellent, I'll give that a go, I can easier live without the motion blur than the shadows.
