  • render artifact

I have to render an interior, with many vray lights and I render with adaptive lights... it's not the first time I noticed artifacts, but I thought it's a setup issue... but I don't get rid of it.

I have read another post here, also telling he gets artifacts, maybe it's also the adaptive light option.
because if you turn it to full light it renders ok.

    any ideas to fix this?

    thanks a lot

If you have not updated to 3.50.04, try updating and see if it helps.

I think the update fixed it... make more renderings and tell you if the artifacts are gone.

thank you. I didn't even know there were an update.

                  hi vlado

the artifacts are not gone in some situations...
mostly they appear far away from the camera http://c2n.me/3J6e6Ao.png

does it help to increase the number from 8 to 16 lights in the option input?

side note... this rendering is rendered with distribution rendering over network... so the darker or brighter buckets are linked to a certain rendernode... in full light setup these errors are not an issue.

Is that specific render node updated to 3.50.04 (or you don't actually know if it's the same node)? It would be good if you can get me a scene for this to vlado@chaosgroup.com so that I can examine it and fix any issues.

                      Best regards,

it looks like one of the nodes is not running latest vray...we had the same issue here and reinstall fixed it

I am making more tests. my rendernodes are all using the same windows image, so they are all on the same version.
it's not so clear what's going on... sometimes all is fine and sometimes not. at the moment all images are rendered fine. I have installed the 3.5.04 version again, and it seems there were some installation issues.
I have changed also the number in the adaptive lights input from 8 to 16... I don't know if this helps.

I will update this thread soon.

                          thanks
