  • LUT cube files behave weird in VFB

    Hi guys,

i ve bought recently quite a few LUTs frin the Deluts collection hoping to give our renders a little bit of twist.

Something is not right about the workflow because all i get are washed out ugly images when i try to apply the LUTs on the renders (LWF of course with nice black/white balance).

It almost looks as if all the blacks become brown grey and the whole image is surrounded by so me sort of muddy looking haze.

Clearly i must be doing something really wrong here.

    Any points to correct workflow?
I ve seen some really nice examples of LUT application here on the forum but what i am getting is like a "swamp style dirty toilet effect"

    Thank you for some pointers!
    Cheers
    M

Have you got the same result in VFB or in PDPlayer? I usually trust Nuke but my experience always whispering me to see if other tools gives the same result.
What about other render engines? Are those profiles work better with render outputs from MentalRay/Arnold/Corona/Scanline etc?
And finally what about other .LUT files not from Deluts collection - do they also produce such washouts?
