Light leak issue - GI related??

Does this go away if you add a shell modifier to your ceiling? Make sure it's not just an infinitely thin plane, add some thickness to it. Usually this fixes all light leak problems.Aleksandar Mitov

My issue seems to be resolved. I closed the box which makes up the ceiling thus avoiding the paper thin geometry.
@Alex_M, your shell modifier suggestion would also have worked. Thanks
I have another project that had this issue as well. I'll try to use this fix.

I also struggle to get the light to render as an object.
I sometimes model the bulb and shade it with a vraylightmtl. I then drop the IES light just below the bulb. This gives me a bright point that I can add bloom and flare to in the VFB.
I never felt this was the correct method. Would be nice to hear some other tips and tricks.

What would be a physically accurate value for the vraylightmtl? I ask because I want it to react accurately to the bloom and glare in the VFB the same way a camera would.
I use a web profile on the IES and a value of 800-1500 lumens. My thinking is that the values will be physically accurate in relation to the vraysun and sky coming through the window.
Thanks!Last edited by Warifus; 27-04-2017, 08:20 AM.
