  • RT GPU not always updating

    Hi,

    stumbled upon another problem:
I have a huge list of lights that I separated into different groups for managing reasons. I turned off show hidden lights and am using the layer manager to turn my groups of lights on and off to quickly see settings I do on other lights that are not in the group I turned off.
Sometimes it works great and Vray RT updates immediately, sometimes I have to restart active shade so it starts to re-render with the new scene setup.
I could go through all the lights in the vray light lister, but thats a tedious task, since there is no group switch.

    So, two questions:
-does anybody have a script to turn on and off a group of lights?
-did anybody notice that RT doesnt always automatically update and has to be restarted?

    thanks, as always!

PS: just noticed that its not only the lights. I changed a material setting and RT is not moving. it reached threshold 0.000 already and I guess thinks it has done its job.... am I missing a setting here?

I would love to check the scene with the update problem - peter.matanov@chaosgroup.com
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

      you got mail
      thanks for looking into it!

also, I am still looking for a vray light lister script that lets me group lights and switch them on and off. any ideas?

        Hi,

Could you specify a little bit more details about script?
        For example:
It has to create group lights or just to work over already created group lights.
The script has to works with groups, layers or both?
If the group is currently open, should the script close it?

I imagine something like the Vray Lightlister:
An interface I can open and close with a button, listing all the lights that are existing in the scene (and ideally their options, like the official lightlister), that I can put into groups and then switch these groups on and off. I didnt think of a feature that the groups could be linked to 3dsmax layers, but that would actually be pretty handy.
I dont understand your last question, sorry.
