  • VrayDenoiser Elements do not apear in vrimg file

    Hello,

denoiser is set to "only generate render elements".
But the elements are not stored inside the vrimg file and not visible in the VFB.

    Max 2014, Vray 3.50.04, nightly 27414

Scene is created by the architect using vray 3.50.03

When I merge the scene to a fresh generated empty scene, then the elemenst are visible and correctly stored.
It happens only when I open a scene createrd with a older vray.

    Bruch_03_denoiser_test.zip

    Kind regards
    Alex

Thanks for the scene, I managed to replicate the issue and I am looking into it now.
Not sure if it is a bug or something's broken in the scene.
Have you noticed if all scenes created with 3.50.03 replicates that issue or not?

Looks like the scene uses the old sampling algorithm which is not supported by Denoiser and that's why it does not generate elements.
Switch to the updated sampling method via the following command and everything should be fine:
      renderers.current.twoLevel_adaptiveMethod=1

        Thank you Svetlozar,for the hint.

the co-workers of my customer use still a MaxStart template, created a few years ago.
It is always a problem to talk to them about updates or system maintenance.

        Kind regards
        Alex

A lot of changes happened in the latest versions of the product and our recommendation is to use updated settings otherwise you mind find yourself into similar situations where something is not working because of outdated settings.
