  • Compiling scene geometry problem

    Hello,

    I've got a strange problem with displacement, it's the first time I see that. I use max 2015/vray3.50.04

    In the same scene, I have no problem to render with displacement from a VrayCam but when I try to render from standard 3dsmax cam in ortho projection, compiling geometry begin but never finish, memory use increases and then, max crash...

    Does anyone know something about this issue ?

          This bug still exists in latest VRay Next GPU. Same symptoms as original poster but in Max 2019 with VRay Next GPU. Crash report CER_175042959

            I am sorry for the troubles you are having with displacement. I think that this may be happening because of the View Dependent / Ortho projection combo. As a workaround while we work on a fix you can disable the View Dependent option and possibly tweak the edge length param to get the results you are targetting.
