Densoiser has always been very quick for me up until today. Now when a 20 minute rendering is done, it's taking about 7 minutes to denoise. If I switch the channel to VrayDenoiser the screen is black and I can watch it slowly add lines of the rendering from top to bottom.

You may as well be doing something while you're doing nothing. -
Have you changed anything in the machine hardware recently? Or windows/driver updates?
If the denoiser does not find a GPU (or the GPU denoising fails for whatever reason) it fallbacks to CPU (which is that slow).
Probably there could be something about that in the log as well (you might change verbose level from the system settings to 4).
