I'm trying to make a pond but I'm getting some really strange reflections in the water when I put a Noise map in the bump slot (bump strength is 20). All render settings are default. The sun light and sky map also have default settings. Please check the image below. Also some buckets don't seem to render the bump (marked with red). I'm using Vray 3.50.04.

Have you tried turning the sun visibility off?www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

Not really, I want to keep the highlights from the sun visible in other objects. It's only the highlights in the pond that turn out strange. Anyways, I played with the material a bit and I managed to craft a better shader and I avoided the strange highlights. You can see in the image below. I think that what helped most was turning down the bump to 2-3. There are no bucket artifacts now too which was my main concern.
