  • Mouse lagging and stuttering if I don't disable cores or reduce affinity

I noticed that my mouse lags and stutters if I don't disable cores or reduce the process affinity. Is this normal? I don't remember this happening before. How can I avoid this? Max 2016 SP4 + Vray 3.50.04.

Is this with standard CPU rendering? I've had this but only when using the GPU in RT

Yes, standard rendering with Vray Adv, bucket sampler, GI method is IM + LC. Resolution is 6000 x 6000 px.

There have been a couple threads floating around lately about this and there has been a couple small max scripts to reduce the load on the cpu's so you can do other things while you render. Unfortunately I cant remember if they are in the General or Take5 area but should be easy to find using the search

Ok, I will look around. But I would still like to make a suggestion, if possible, to change this in Vray itself so that we can at least use our mouse and keyboard while rendering for checking mails and surfing the web.

The problem could be machine specific as I have no problems on the WS specked below in my tag when rendering as well as my office WS which is an HP Z820 32core Xeon or my laptop. The only major difference in what I see from your specs is you are using 2016 SP4 and Im still on SP3 on everything but dont see how that can make a difference unless AD really messed up that SP but we all know thats not like them lol. Below is one of the threads I was referring to earlier.
