Hi, I have deadline 8 and vray 3.60.01 and when submiting by deadline only the beauty pass is saved and the render elements are not saved. When rendering locally (without deadline) it works. Do you have any idea why? I saw a thread on the thinkbox forum talking about deadline 9 sp4 probably correcting the bug, but I am not on subsciption anymore with them and I don't want to upgrade and since previous vray versions were working with deadline 8 I hope you could still make it work on you side. So do you have any idea? Tanks.

I just tried with the official 3.60.01 released and deadline still can't save the element with it.

it was working before with previous versions of vray so I don't know what happened. I'm using deadline since so many years. I tried with many different pathing options with always the same result.
Normally I use this:

It seems it's now working with the official release if I uncheck the new "Separate folders" option in the vfb. So that should be conflicting with deadline. At least I can now work by unchecking it.

Hi,
There is a problem when Separate channels is activated indeed. I don't even get the RGB pass saved in my test here, while without Separate channels, RGB and all elements are written in the specified directory.
It's difficult to say where is the issue right now without some help from our developers, but I suspect the Deadline submission script. Submitting the same job with Separate channels through the Deadline monitor (3ds max submission) works without any problems and all elements are stored in the corresponding folder.
Can you try this at your side ?
I'll post here when we have any news to share.

I can confirm it's working when submiting via the monitor (3ds max submission).

OK, here is what we found. The render submission script stores the entire render output in a temporary folder in a correct order (With Separate folder enabled - all elements in separate directory ), but the problem comes when those files need to be moved to the destination folder. The script is not able to find the files inside the those folders, which makes the destination folder empty.
Can you forward this information to the ThinkBox so they can fix it?

Any update on this issue Strob?
Did you manage to separate folders with deadline?

Sorry I don't remeber I stopped using deadline and I'm using now the free Afanasy. Not perfect with 3ds max but it's free and I heard it is working better with houdini on Linux and my goal is to switch to those.
