I'm using multiple workstations on two locations (office or home-office). One of the workstations can't be upgraded past version 3.3 as it will crash when opening the VFB. The other workstations work without problems.
This happens with any scene, old or newly created. This is the third update I can't use on this workstation.
When I uninstall 3.4, 3.5 of 3.6 and reinstall 3.3 i can use the vray frame buffer on this one again.
The same license and license server is used and 3ds max is version 2016 (18.6.)
I have it when I launch a render from 3ds max or through backburner. (VRAY unhandled exception... blablabla... pipe has ended ...blablabla).
Using the very limited standard max vfb "solves" the issue.
I've added what's visible from the pop-up before the crash below.
