  • Vray Hybrid Error on render node

message window says CUDA CPU not utilized should be selected explicitly? when I submitted the job from my ws I had cuda cpu selected and to verify my ws server utilized the cpu hybrid.

render nodes do not have their own 3ds max license...does this mean I have to transfer my 3ds max license to each node, open max and set the cuda cpu? using max 2016 and vray 3.6.01.

To set which devices are used for CUDA rendering without opening Max do this:
    1. Open the Start menu
    2. Go to folder Chaos Group
    3. Go to folder V-Ray RT Adv for 3ds Max 2016 for x64
    4. Click on Select devices for V-Ray GPU rendering
    5. In the window chose the CUDA devices you want the render node to use. In your case that would be C++/CPU

    I hope this helps!

      Alex,
      You're a lifesaver...didn't see that was there...I'm testing now...

EDIT: That looks like it fixed it...nodes are showing cpu is being utilized along side gpu's. Thanks again Alex.
