  • IPR since 3.6 slow and buggy

    Hi,

Pre the 3.6 update I was using IPR a lot, it worked great even on large scenes just fine. as in over 2 million+ poly's

Since 3.6 it seems now, regardless of scene size, IPR makes the viewport almost unresponsive, very laggy in selecting, panning, orbiting ...basically unusable.

Also now crashes often...seems to happen at random.

    Anyone else noticing this??

Sorry its a very non specific post, it seems across the board on all my scenes much much slower (not in render time, but interactivity) than previous versions. I just wanted to know if anyone else is having issues?

    Hello,

I haven't used IPR since we updated to v3.6, but I have the feeling that this update has made my 3dsmax globally slower ...maybe just a feeling though. I will give IPR a try this morning, a few lighting adjustments to do on a project.

It would be very helpful if you can provide more details or a scene. As far as I know, there are no IPR-related changes in 3.6 that would cause this behavior so it would be good to check what is actually going on.

Also would be very helpful to send us any crash dumps from IPR sessions.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

Thanks for replying Vlado....sorry I realise its a completely vague thing to post without specifics.... I am working on product renders with a lot of Rhino and Solidworks files imported into max and there is some pretty crazy geometry in there so this could also be having an influence. I'll save something out and a dump file next time I have issues, stay tuned.
