  • vray light exclude work with refl?

    Hi,
I have a scene where I have two dome lights, one for reflections, and the other for diff, and spec. Exclude list doesn't work with the light that only gives reflections. Is that a bug? Meaning that the light with cast reflection on the object that is excluded.

Works as expected on my side, have you got an example scene you can post?
    Try this scene

Oh...it's the same bug as I reported with environment override to black colour. It won't work if the object is in the room and the light first hits glass on the window. Same bug happens here. Try putting glass sphere around the object. It will show refl even when excluded. Any ideas when this will be fixed? I guess it can be fixed together with that other bug.

I guess I would not think of this as a bug as the object is not directly reflecting the light any more it is reflecting the window/glass, so the glasses affect on the rays will then be visible. You would need the glass to also be excluded in the reflection light as well.
The same would occur with mirrored surfaces. Is the problem that you want the reflection to affect the glass, but not objects inside it?
There may be a way to achieve that with override materials, but I would have to take a look.

It's the same with override materials. It is a bug as I reported in another thread. Certain objects in many of my scenes just reflect too much at certain camera angles so I have to remove them or reduce their reflection without affecting other objects like glass on windows.

Also, almost always my interior objects will first "see" glass on the window and then the dome light, so they are reflecting dome light, even though that light just travels through glass.

Edit: will show you an example tomorrow

You can achieve it by reflection excluding the glass in your objects vray properties, but then the object/window geometry it is not visible in the reflection at all.
Not sure if that works for you.
