  • VrayProxy Lighting Issue

We have a scene with nearly 100 of the same house duplicated so we decided to proxy them, the thing is we are getting a strange lighting issue where the shadows are not correctly rendered that isn't present when the proxy is a mesh instead.

In the first image it is a mesh and not a proxy and so has the correct shadow whereas the second does not (Proxy).

    Please send me the scene.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

        Hey Phil,

It looks like something got wrong on the conversion mesh to proxy, because almost all faces in the proxy you sent me are flipped. Reexport the original geometry and it should be fine.

We tried what you said and are still running into the issue with faces getting flipped upon conversion. We even tried collapsing all modifier stacks, resetting x-form, collapsing into one editable poly geometry and we are still looking at about 20% of the model's faces getting flipped.

We're probably just going to replace the geometry that are being flipped with new geometry as its always the same pieces.

Edit 1: We think its when Mirror objects is being used from the top toolbar instead of the mirror modifier.
Edit 2: Just did another test using the Mirror Objects tool and it is 100% causing the geometry face to be flipped upon conversion to a VrayProxy.
