  • Slow scene interaction/navigation when IPR is running

I'm experiencing quite slow viewport navigation and scene interaction in a very simple small interior scene when IPR is running (BF+BF). What can I do to improve the situation and minimize the stuttering and slowdowns?

    Same here, but with BF+LC.
I can rotate the camera for example, but after about 1 second I get a lag in the viewport while navigating. I have to wait 3 or 4 seconds before it moves on.

      Hello,

Do you have any color corrections active in the VFB - if so what corrections? And also - what resolution are you rendering ?

      Best regards,

Yes, I have color corrections enabled. Resolution of the IPR window is about 800 x 600 px.

What corrections do you have enabled ?
Can you check if the slow down also happens if you only have the sRGB enabled?

Interesting. Today I opened the scene again to do another test and it runs smoothly. I'm not sure why it was slow yesterday. If it happens again I will try to pinpoint the problem.

This issue is chronic one for me and has been the past year or so. I used to be able to leave IPR running while I worked on medium sized files (500K or less say). If I run IPR now, I have to terminate it to be able to do anyhting in Max without serious lag. This is not just with one file, it's with any file. I've seen posts that it may be an issue with AMD processors. My previous machine (1.5yrs ago) was in fact an Intel processor and that's when things worked well. My new processor is about 4 times as powerful and I'm using all NVMe 4.0 drives and have an RTX 4090 adapter. But, my processor in Windows 11 (same issue in Win10, so it's not OS related) is in fact AMD. I've done a lot of searching and have found no settings or parameters to make things better. So, mostly, I'm just reporting it here since I found this similar thread.
