  • vdenoise tool question

Hi i am trying to use vdenoise tool to denoise a interior walkthrough, i start with everything in default, change the color treshold in AA to 0.03, vraydenoise RE in default. After finished render, i start the vdenoise tool and use -mode=mild to denoise, but it turn out my image is too blur, how could i fix it?
    Best regards,

It looks like even smallest possible preset generates too much blur and you have to switch to manual control and find the best values for: -strength ; -radius
Can you show undenoised and denoised image as well as the command line used in vdenoise tool?
Did you also check that the denoise elements exist in the output file from 3dsMax? Depending on how the image is exported they might or might not be exported and this is also very important for the vdenoise tool.

In 3ds max you can adjust the denoise parameters interactively once you render the image in Vray frame buffer. Render the scene, adjust the denoiser parameters until you are happy and then apply them to the rest of the frames. Lastly denoiser is not a magic bullet there is always a trade off between clarity and noise amount.
