  • Turbosmooth Issue w/Vray

Turbosmooth has a Render Iterations parameter that doesn't seem to work with Vray.

    1. Make a ball, low res.
    2. Add Turbosmooth to it.
    3. Set Iterations to 0 and Render Iters to 3
    4. It renders at 0.

...Turns out this was some odd thing. Restarting max made it stop. I'd delete the post all together but can't do so.

Figured out the issue. If the Render Iters is >=5, it seems to ignore the parameter. At least with my high density model.

According to my tests, it works fine here. Which V-Ray/3ds Max versions are you using and can you send us your model?

Max 2018 VR 3.60.03. I am wondering if it is a video memory issue. I am converting a displacement map to geometry for 3D printing, so it's dense, and that may be the issue. I'll send model if issue persists and is a predictable, repeatable problem.

I don't think it's related to memory. One possibility is if the Turbosmooth's Update options are set to manual.

Can't repeat this issue at all today. Apparently my machine just needed to be turned off to get some rest. Haha. Max is odd like this sometimes.
