  • UV Problem

Although this might be a 3ds Max thing or user error. I thought i would at least see if anyone has any ideas. I have a bottle of JD modelled and want to keep it as one single object and have a multi sub object material.
I have unwrapped the object with 5 ID's that all works fine. Where the issue comes about is when i am trying to do the etched signature on the glass. As soon as i apply the signature using vray displacement the displacement appears all over the bottle .

I am no expert with unwrapping but i have a simple level of understanding.
ID 1 is the top / cap and thats all fine in its 0,1 layout, ID 3 is the collar label and thats on its own ID 3 maps fine. I then placed just the area of the glass where the signature is on ID 4 and the rest of the bottle on 5.

In material editor i have the signature etching set to map channel 2 and Vray displacement to texture channel 2. This is maybe incorrect but i assumed that texture channel of displacement and material editor Map channel would correspond.

The unwrapping was at first a single modifier with all 5 channels, then i tried 2 unwraps one channel 1 for the parts not requiring the displacement and then another unwrap with channel 2 just for the area where the signature etching goes.

This may all sound like jargon but if someone understands and can help it would be appreciated.

Image attached shows the bottle with etching all over bottle whereas i just need it on the sloped section of the bottle neck. I know i can detatch the neck and do it fine but i wanted to try and keep it as 1 single object.
