  • refractive caustics not showing

Again issue with this. A couple of projects ago I made a perfect pool caustics, and now I only get reflective on the edge of my pool, light doesn't go in. I unchecked the affect shadows under material refraction, photon emition radius of the sun is big enough, etc. Nothing else I can think of. Even put shell on the water object (did not need it before) but the same. Since I see reflective caustics it must be something else. vray 3.60.01

Things seems to be working fine on our side. It would be best to send us a test scene for investigation relating this topic to support@chaosgroup.com.

After few tests I managed to render the refractive caustics. I lowered the V-Ray plane in your scene, unchecked the "Affect shadows" option of the water material and finaly I replaced the sun with new one.

Please make sure that the "photon emit radius" is large enough to cover the water surface. Also I have noticed that the on some of the scene objects the Caustics multiplier(V-Ray object properties) is set to 10. You might need to adjust these values.

Oh thank you so much. I completely forgot about vrayplane, that it would cover it. I think water already had affect shadows unchecked since that's the first thing I do. Maybe I checked it for some test.
