  • Matte Object Alpha Problem when importing to AE - Loosing Transparency Details

    Hello,

We are currently working on a project and we have a problem with the alpha of the beauty pass when importing to After Effects.
On the left is the render image inside the VFB. On the right is the image imported in After Effects. Notice the difference in the floor. The only way to get back all the reflections is to set the image to Ignore Alpha. But we loose the ability to comp the image over the original background because we have no transparency.
We use V-Ray 3.60.02 and saving in EXR.

Are we missing some parameters to make it right ?

    Thank you

    G

Does your Alpha contain color information? I spoke with our colleagues and they suggested to check the Project Settings and try using "Blend Colors Using 1.0 Gamma".

Did you try setting the Alpha to "Straight - Unmatted" instead of Premultiplied in AE ?
