  • GPU animation consuming system memory

I'm rendering a test animation using the built-in Max "Populate" feature, using GPU. When I click the "Render" button, frame render time starts around 4 seconds. As it renders each frame, my system "In use" memory keeps climbing, and render times keep increasing with every frame. If I cancel the rendering, it frees up the memory and frame render times drop back down to 4 seconds. I've tried disabling the frame buffer, disabled the Max "Rendered Frame Window". I'm using Brute Force for primary and secondary. Render Output is saving to a PNG file. While I was typing this message, render times slowly increased to 28 seconds. Canceled the rendering and restarted it and it was back down to 6 seconds this time.

    Hi,

Can you attach your scene file to try it here? Everything works fine here on a quick setup with V-ray 3.60.01 RT Cuda and Max 2017.

I uploaded the file here. Please note that I downloaded the hi-res texture pack for the Populate people. It was free, but was not installed by default.
