  • It takes longer too render an empty scene with vray, then with default scanline 3dsmax

I have noticed that when rendering a black frame, with absolutly nothing enabled and just an empty scene. it takes longer.
then it does too render a blackframe with the default scanline renderer of 3dsmax.

So i was wondering why that is, is it my computer?

Raytracing has a higher overhead; computing a pixel with V-Ray generally takes some minimum time which is higher than the scanline renderer.

Good thing it's infinitely faster than scanline in non-empty raytraced scenes.
