  • 3.60.03 incompatible with old ForestPackPro scenes ?

    i tried to load an older tutorial for forestpackpro

    https://www.itoosoft.com/tutorials/m...3D1%26tag%3Dfp

    its a scene from 2014 with xref objects from 4 different scenes ...

    the rendering hangs while creating the light cache ... and i have to kill the max process to stop it

    i think i have read something similiar here but not shure ...

    max 2018.3 ... forestpackpro 5.4 ... vray 3.60.03

    Let me see if we can reproduce this here.

    Best regards,

      Update both FP and RC to the latest versions. There was a problematic RC object (RC_Tiles002) that seems fine with the 3.0.9 version.
      If it was that easy, it would have already been done

        Hi, we also could isolate the problem in the RC_tiles002 object. Although in our case, it fails with RC 3.0.9 as well (no idea why it worked for Peter).

        It seems caused by a bug in the Max boolean process, when processing this specific geometry.

        Unfortunately this is not something we can fix it, but there is a simple workaround modifying slightly the object:

        - Open Style Editor for RC_tiles002.
        - Select A2S Generator and modify General->Clipping Area->Expand from 10% to 11%.

        We are preparing a modified scene, with this fix applied.
