Pre Pass Using Brute Force

Someone at work is rendering a large interior scene and using LC / Brute Force straight after the LC it looks as though a Pre Pass has started where the images goes all dark and then starts rendering. I used to have this with Interpolated materials now they have gone is there anything else that can do this to a scene ?

Only LC and Brute Force are being used. Even reset Vray and same thing

A SSS material would do it I think depending on the options. Could also still be a hidden interpolation ? Use VMC to turn all reflect/refract interpolations off in scene.

Tried VMC as first option - but still does it

Sorted it with VMC it was an SSS material on pre pass
