  • Batch Render 32bit EXR for Compositing

    Hello,

I was just wondering if there is a good workflow for batch rendering still images from different camera angles into 32 bit multi-layer .exr files that include all the various render elements in them for later compositing.

Seems like if I try batch rendering into .exr files, they always come out very distorted and the only way I can get the proper multi-layer exr file is by saving it out from the VFB or by using the Render Setup > V-Ray > Frame buffer > 'V-Ray raw image file' save option in the render settings. These are the only two ways I've been able to generate the multi-layer .exr files that I can composite the final image from.

Is there a way to get these .exr files to output from a batch render?

    Thanks!

Could you give us more details on what exactly do you mean with "they always come out very distorted" and could you send us some examples. Here is a working workflow:
    - Disable the build-in frame buffer.
    - Open the Batch Render window and set up the Output Path, set the exr format to 32 bit and manually add all of the render elements.
    - Render.
