  • Vray 6.3 GPU not loading or render

    Hello Guys,
my progressive GPU RT always worked. However, my production GPU/RT some time failed to load or render. To render I would need to restart 3dS max or the computer. One thing to note. The GPU progressives render never fail. I am rendering on a GTX1080TI Ram useage is about 3gb. Can someone please help me understand why this keeps happening?
    Thank you,
    Garth

    Hi Garth,

I have not seen such behaviour here and this is definitely not expected to happen. Did this start happening after you upgraded something, or was it always happening? Are there any error messages in the output log when this happens? What are your system specs and GPU driver version? Which version of 3ds Max are you using? Does it happen on every scene and if so can you share some steps on how to try and preproduce this on our end?

      Hello sir,
I've always experience this issue with Vray GPU production render on all scene rendering over time. I had to reboot 3DS max around three to four times per day for it to work. What I find rather strange is that the GPU-IPR always render even when production render failed to start. I will make a note next time and upload the result from the log.
      System specs: Windows 10. motherboard - Z10PE-D16 WS. Ram 32gb ECC. CPU-Xeon E5-2683v3 X2. 1. Gtx1080TI FOR GPU RENDER AND 1. GTX690 running two monitors. 3D program 3DS max 2018...Vray 3.6 nightly 11/13/17
      Thank you,
      Garth

          Hello,

When this happens we create a mini crash dump called VRay.dmp located in the Windows temp folder (you can enter %temp% in the windows explorer address bar).

Could you attach one such dump here or send it to our support ?

          Best regards,
          Yavor
