  • Volume fog missing buckets

    Hi,

I'm trying to have a VrayEnvironmentFog effect going on for some of my lights and I get what looks like missing buckets over the fog effect (screenshot attached). I played around with the fog effect settings such as step size or subdivs and still cannot get rid of that glitch. Anyone knows what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

    V-Ray version?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

Does increasing the subdivs change anything?

      Best regards,

When I've had issues like this I needed to increase my minimum subdivs to 2.

No, I bumped it up from 1 to 100 and the problem is still there.

After some more experimentation with the fog parameters I got rid of the problem by decreasing the distance from 1500 to 500. I *think* it has to do with the fact that this scene is quite dark (night setting) and the minimum VrayEnvironmentFog light cutoff value of 0.001 might still be too high in this situation, so making the fog more opaque and visible solves the problem... to me it looks like Vray thinks "okay here the fog is not visible enough so let's cut it off".

That'll be my solution for now, thanks guys.
