I've just noticed that AlSurface renders out artifacts if you plug an unclamped HDR color inside of SSS color texture. As soon as I clamp the color, artifacts are gone. I believe this should happen automatically to ensure energy conservation.
Here's how it looks when unclamped color goes into sss color texture slot:
And here's how it looks when I clamp the incoming color:
