  • rt gpu, forestpack and mattes

    i cannot get a mask for my forest objects using rt gpu. ive tried multimatte with object id for forest object, objectid renderelement, and multimatte using material id with matid assigned to forest automaterial.

    just get black masks.

    is there any hack to get masks from the forest objects using rt gpu? my deadline is, as always.. soon.

    Strange, it should work. Maybe scene specific?

    I missed this when using Multimatte for the first time but i guess that's not the issue because it's your thread

    Should work with Forest Pack, it does for me.

      nope its not the material ID issue, although i did try matID too. it just refuses to give a matte for forestpack objects specifically.. all my other mattes are coming through fine. as mentioned, ive tried objectid and materialid, and multimatte and vrayobjectid elements. in the end ive just used a soft brush and painted masks in photoshop roughly.. good enough for now but hardly ideal.. i have no time before deadline to resolve it.

      Hopefully client doesnt come back with specific plant colour tweaks,or i have to render patches.
