  • VRayTriplanarTex doesn't work with Motion Blur...

Not sure if this has been reported or not, but VrayTriplanar Texture doesn't respect motion blur.
I wonder if this is a bug, or just a neglected feature?

On the other hand, Max's native triplanar texture (blendedbox map) works fine.
    Using Vray 3.6.03, Max 2017...

    Thanks,
    Greg

It seems to work fine on a simple scene. Can you attach an example file?

I meant when objects have rotation transform on them; sorry for not been more precise the first time.

Motion blur works when the item in question with the VrayTtriplanar map, has Position transform animation.
It doesn't work with Rotation animation, like a car wheel spinning on the same spot, for example.
It's not easy to notice when the item has both Position and Rotation animation at the same time, but easy to spot with only Rotation in place.
      See attached pic...

      But...
what i just found is that, it DOES work with rotation as well, ONLY if the map used uses "Planar from Object XYZ" and not "Explicit Map Channel" for the mapping.
Only then the rotation motion blur works with the VRay Triplanar mapping.

At least, there is a way now to make this work...

The test scene is also attached here...

      Cheers,
      Greg

Hehe, i wonder if the "free Vray t-shirt" policy for finding bugs, is still active.
Lol, unless i'm mistaken this with some other app!

We don't have this, but it's definitely interesting to think about it

              Best regards,

Still no official fix for this in Vray Next. Will it ever be fixed?

EDIT: Found in another thread that turning off "ShadeContext in camera space" in System fixes this.
