  • VRayCryptomatte Material and Multi/Sub-Object Material

    Hi Guys.

I'm trying to work with the VRayCryptomatte but unfortunately, when I use the VRayCryptomatte pass in "Node Material name" Mode, the multi/sub-object material does not seem to be properly supported.
Only the parent material (Multi / Sub-Object material) is recognized, children are ignored.

Is there a way for the VRayCryptomatte material pass to be better interpreted ?
Should I wait for a Vray update for this feature to be integrated ?

On my example the body of the car, the wheels and the road use materials Multi/Sub-objects material including several children's materials.

    Thanks,
    Arnaud

    Hi,

We recently implemented this in Maya and it will be easy to implement it in 3ds Max as well, but you will need an updated version of V-Ray. Please email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com and I'll see what can be done about it (might take a few days though).

    Best regards,
    Vlado
