  • White buckets from DR node with Xref scenes

    Hi all,

Can't figure out why, but when using DR with Xref scenes, the buckets from the nodes are white.

The nodes appear to load fine, and start rendering, but they're incredibly slow, and when they "finish" the render is completely white (on all render passes too).

If I merge the xref into the scene, and render, it's fine.

I don't think it's a drive / network issue, as the texture maps are stored on the same drive as the max files, so if it couldn't read the max file, then it wouldn't be able to read the textures right?

So does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Dean

Any ideas? I've been though all the network settings, checked all permissions, etc, but it's still rendering white buckets.

    Thanks,
    Dean

      Hello,

Do you use UNC paths all the way ?

        I use mapped drives.

And that's worked for years. so can't see that being a problem.

I should also add that rendering though BackBurner is fine, so I'm confident the drives are working / mapped correctly.

Still the problem occurs, any suggestions to try or look at?

            Thanks,
            Dean

I've just tested this and it works fine here. You have "Transfer missing assets" ticked ON in the DR settings, right?

Yes it's ticked thanks. It's worked fine on this system before, but after formatting the PC it's not behaving as it should. The only workaround I have right now is to merge the xrefs, then render, but this isn't ideal.

Have you tested if other scenes containing xrefs are behaving the same way or is it just this particular one?

Behavour is the same for every file.

One thing I notice is that when using Xefs, the vraylog shows every map being transferred to the node, even if the node has access to it, and the drive are mapped.

When I merge the file, the assets are no longer being transferred. All I see is "Mesh file "example.vrmesh" linked successfully"
