  • Merging Light Cache Passes

Started to have this with really heavy scenes with 3.6.04 where if you cancel a render when merging light cache passes it hangs for a good 5mins before it all comes back to life again. Anyone experienced this ?

Scene was using nearly 90gb ram if that helps. Loads and loads of scatters going on

Anyone at all answer why the merging light cache can take 5-10 mins before it finishes. LC 3000

Can you try the same scene with the Beta?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

I can its just that its got loads of Forest and Railclone objects. I know Forest beta works with Vray Beta but i dont think Railclone does

RC 3.1 works with the Beta on a first glance. I'm not sure what will happen with more complicated scenes though.

matanov i tried installing vray beta and the itoo updates. Attempted rendering and it just crashes saying UNHANDLED EXCEPTION.

I have sent a log file in to vray@chaosgroup.com the scene would be such a pain to send as its 7 different xrefs and each is a few hundred mb

Reinstalled Vray 3.6.04 with the latest Itoo updates still installed and it renders fine

Please send me the dump files from the crash, there could be VRay.dmp and/or 3dsmaxminidump.dmp, both in the temp folder - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/suppo...ror-crash.html
