    Hi,

    I'm wondering if anybody has a solution to the issue I'm facing when using a shadow catcher setup (made via VRayProperties)

    As soon as I set the plane to be a shadow catcher object I get blotchy artifacts around their base. I can't seem to smooth this out with a higher AA/ Lower noise threshold or by increasing LC subdivisions.

    Setting my LC subdivs to 10,000 and Retrace to 12 cleaned this up

      I believe that Retrace option should be enough to smooth those blotches, can you try to decrease LC subdivs to something like 3000 and keep Retrace to 12?
