  • Camera Map crash / 2D footage integration issues

    Hey,

I am having some issues with integrating a greenscreen footage 2d Plane into my 3D set renderings.

I have an interior scene with a matchmoved camera and a person filmed walking through it:
My approach to put them together would have been to render the scene including the scene with the 2d plane invisible to camera but visible to reflections and shadows.
Since the camera and the person both were moving in the filmed shot, I couldn?t just place the plane in the scene since the filmed feet would not always have contact with the floor and the reflections/shadows would be wrong.
So I aplied a camera map modifier to the plane but now it crashes upon rendering. I deleted the camera map modifier and then it rendered fine, so thats definitely the issue. I also tried copying the camera and picking the copy in the camera map modifier, but I still get a crash.

Is this a bug or how else should I go about this issue? the floor reflections are not even, so simply faking them in after effects in post would be quite complicated.

If it doesn?w work with the camera map modifier, I?ll have to just link the 2d Plate to the camera and handkey the offset of the feet to the floor

To be more precise: This only happens with the camera map (WSM), not the normal camera map modifier. The last one renders fine, but I can?t animate the position of the plane with it...
And I am using 3ds max 2018 with Vray 3.60.04
