  • Artifacts on Local Anisotropy and Subdivision Flat Surfaces

Applying Local axis Anisotropy reflection to a subdivided flat surface (ex:Top of cube) will cause artifacts.

    What is this?

tested on Next Beta3 and 3.60.04

Why is not this post listed?

Edit: Posting a reply was listed in "Problems". I do not know why.

The problem is that the top of the cube is completely horizontal and the anisotropy Z-axis is ambiguous in that case. If you rotate the cube slightly, it should be fine. Alternatively, you can use explicit mapping channel to determine the anisotropy direction. I'll try to think of a more reliable way to handle this situation.
