  • iCube Multiscatter and Vray Distributed render using spawner

    Hi,

I have a client with a rather unusual scene that's rendering fine on a single node but producing some weird artifacts when rendered on multiple nodes using vray spawner.

    The scene is using Multiscatter.

The circled areas are showing the vray proxy object being rendered partially, the continuous "fence" is the artifact happening.

I am trying to figure if this is a vray issue or multiscatter.

If you have any ideas on how to further test this to determine the cause to know which part I should contact would be great.

Are there any warnings or errors in the log files on the render servers?

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Hi Vlado,

I made another render test and collected the logs from all 5 servers.

I did not see anything unusual. Something that made me think was the step for creating mesh for multiscatter object.

I am using the latest version of multiscatter "MultiScatter 1.07x (latest)" downloaded from their forum.

Let me know if you want to run other tests.

I am going to perform a test having just the slave rendering the scene to see what's happening.

        I did another test.

        1. I rendered locally + 1 slave. The image was looking alright - no trees offset.
        2. I disabled the local rendering and used just the slave to render - the image was looking fine
        3. Added a second slave to render and submitted the job just on those 2 slaves - I begin getting offsets in trees, like the mesh is generated wrong or something.
