  • 2 sided material and normalmap issue?

I have an issue where strange artefacts appear on a leaf material with 2-sided material. The problem seems to come only when using a normalmaps, and at particular angles. Take a look. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? The normalmap is set to use gamma 1.0 so that shouldn't be the issue.

I tested with a standard vray material as well, and the normalmap works fine.
Here is a link to the plant model I used.

V-ray adv version used for my render is 3.60.04

Please send me that simple scene with just the leaves.
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

That happens to me all the time. I have stopped using normal maps together with 2sided material for that reason.

And another entry in the long list of bump map related issues in V-Ray.
It is time to do something against all this...

Thanks for the update. At least I know it's a bug. I removed the normalmap in this case...

You can put your Material without bump in a VrayBumpMaterial and use a Normalmap there
