  • Mac / Photoshop super slow opening Vrimg files.

Anyone else having this madness - Photoshop takes an age to open Vrimg files. I'm using latest Vray and rending to a Vrimg multi pass files and latest Photoshop to open them - on a MacPro.

Sometimes it can take 5 mins to open a file that's a 50/580M file - it's driving me nuts!

Tried opening the same files on my PC - again with latest Photoshop - and again - it's very slow? If you read this - and your opens the files quickly - please let me know!
Once i've saved the files as PSD files - they open nice and quickly as one would expect - it's just slow opening the 32 bit Vrimg files.....

Maybe ask the authors of the .vrimg plugin loader for PhotoShop?

      Best regards,
      Vlado

Cheers Vlado - I looked into that today - I use the (what was) paid for version of ProEXR - is there anything you guys would recommend that's better to allow opening of multi pass .vrimg files?
I like / liked this as it allowed you to open .vrimg files directly as opposed to converting them in any way - I don't recall it being so slow historically - maybe my files are just getting bigger
I tried the same files today - saving them as EXR files and it opens much more quickly - but i'm not getting exactly the same results in my render passes....

Hey I've also been using ProEXR for years to open vrimg files. It worked very fine but lately it has become unbearably slow for me too. The plugin have not been updated recently nothing changed in my hardware so I suspect a change in photoshop itself maybe ?
