  • IPR not working max 2018 3.60.04 (& no feedback in VFB)

The VFB is does not update when rendering (just doing a normal rendering) and also now, if I try to do IPR rendering, the process starts but then it just stops and nothing happens any more. If i try to refresh or make any changes in the scene, nothing happens. So i try to close the VFB but I cannot. the Vray message window says "Waiting for IPR render to complete" - but literally nothing is happening, no CPU activity.
usually the only solution at this point is to force quit 3dsmax.
Any suggested workarounds ?anyone tried solving something like this with a reinstall of vray ?
Its not scene dependent - it happens in any scene, so something is messed up.

OK on the same computer i just tried using Max 2019 (which im not using for projects yet) to see if the VFB was working or not and also to see if IPR was working. Both are currently working properly in max 2019. So what gives ? how can i fix 2018 without reinstalling max etc ?

looks like the solution (for me) was indeed to delete the Max user (ENU) folder. Uggghhhhhhhhh

does anyone know - instead of deleting the entire ENU folder, are there specific files in there related to vray that could be deleted ?
