  • Dark Boxes

I posted this over on the NEXT Beta forum, but I haven't gotten any help. One machine and using Bucket BF+LC. I am getting dark boxes randomly across my image. This was a DR issue years ago, so I don't know why it is happening now.

Is the light cache generating fresh everytime or is it accessing a saved cache that the DR nodes cant read?

I am assuming fresh since I am not using DR.

I've replied in your original thread this morning. There is no reason to create 2 identical threads.

If it was that easy, it would have already been done

When I have a deadline and I need help, I felt that there was a need for another post.

I've had similar Problems in very rare cases when using Adaptive Lights at low settings (global switches) but with 3.60.04. Does it help if you set it to full light evaluation?

I used all the defaults. Can you elaborate?

Yes it happened to me even with default settings. In the render setup, v-ray tab, if you set the global switches to advanced or expert mode. At default adaptive lights are set to 8, which might not be enough in some cases. If you set this to full light evaluation, does it prevent those blocks?

But still, this is for 3.60.04, havn't tried on v-ray next yet.

Getting weird dark blocks all over my animation with the adaptive lights default setting in version 4.02.04. Why is this still an issue?

Because everytime you want to make something smart in software development it occasionally fails and is dumb.

I am getting these bad in my element passes. I think it is the same thing going on but on my reflection and specular passes.
